Nyssa sylvatica

Nyssa sylvatica is een boom met licht glanzend groen blad. De takkenstand is mooi horizontaal en de onderste takken hangen licht af wat de boom een mooi natuurlijk silhouet geeft. De herfstkleur is spectaculair, het scharlaken- tot oranjerood blad geeft de tupeloboom één van de opvallendste herfstkleuren. Na de onopvallende bloei verschijnen de kleine blauwzwarte steenvruchtjes. Nyssa sylvatica houdt van een voedzame vochtige bodem, maar hij verdraagt ook een drogere bodem.
